JAZZ DANCE

This dance is one of the most popular dancing styles. Many musicals are based on this technique. Jazz fully develops all muscle groups, improves coordination of the body, elongates tendons.

 

Regular training increases the efficiency of the body. Jazz teaches a well-formed expression and creates balance between body and mind.

CONTEMPORARY JAZZ

Contemporary Jazz is an exciting style of Jazz that has evolved incorporating Jazz, Modern, Lyrical and Ballet to create an eclectic mix for an innovative quality of movement and choreography. 

 

These fun classes will give you a full body workout developing your dance ability, flexibility, strength and musicality. Please note that this class is not for complete beginners.

 

 

LYRICAL DANCE

Using music to translate emotion into movement, lyrical is very fluid and utilizes aspects of ballet, jazz and contemporary dance. Dancers are challenged to find meaning behind the music and connect that to the choreography.

 

Dancers are taught to use smooth transitions between movements and incorporate breath into their dance. Classes include character development through discussion and examples in both dance and student experience

 

 

 

Classical ballet is characterized by a standard vocabulary of steps, poses, and graceful movements including pointed feet, rising, jumping, stretching and spinning. It is strengthening, disciplined and stylized.

 

The class starts with exercises at the barre followed by work in the centre of the floor. Classical ballet for adults is a great way of improving flexibility and coordination.

 

 

 

 

BALLET

FLOOR BARRE

Floor Barre ® is a gentle and effective method that lengthens and strengthens muscle, releases tension from the neck and joints and promotes correct alignment. Based on the principles of classical ballet, Floor Barre ® is not just for dancers. Runners and gym-fans will find huge benefits from Floor Barre ®Technique – releasing tight hamstrings and correcting alignment helps prevent avoidable injury and promote healthy, better technique. 

 

 

 

ISTD MODERN DANCE

The ISTD Modern Dance syllabus incorporates elements of jazz and contemporary dance, and includes the learning of rhythm, good posture and the development of style & self-confidence. Modern offers students the fast paced, energetic and fun style of dance that develops strength, flexibility, endurance and coordination with free work. Class suitable for beginners and students on intermediate level.
